More than an
engineer.

The engineer

I'm a Mechanical Engineering student at Johns Hopkins University interested in design, problem-solving, and turning ideas into tangible solutions. What draws me to engineering is the balance between analytical thinking and creativity — understanding how systems work while designing things that meaningfully improve the way people interact with the world around them.

Growing up, I was always curious about how things were made and how they could be improved, whether that meant taking apart everyday objects or exploring different forms of making and design. Over time, that curiosity evolved into a passion for engineering, product development, and hands-on problem-solving.

Through coursework, research, and technical projects, I’ve developed experience with CAD, prototyping, technical communication, and collaborative engineering workflows.

The person

Outside of engineering, I’m driven by the same curiosity and creativity that drew me to design in the first place. I grew up bilingual and developed a passion for learning languages, eventually learning four, including Korean at university level.

Music and motorsport are also major interests of mine because of the creativity, precision, and community they both foster. That interest in motorsport led me to found the Motorsports Society at Johns Hopkins, creating an interest-based, multidisciplinary space for students passionate about racing.
